Where To Pick Apples Around Ridgefield: 2025 Guide

This should be a good year for apple picking, according to the 2025 forecast from the U.S. Apple Association.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Fall doesn’t officially start until the autumnal equinox on Monday, Sept. 22, but the season is already underway at Ridgefield area apple orchards.

There are plenty of activities at these fall attractions to appeal to all ages, especially kids.

Patch has compiled a list of some of the best apple orchards and family-friendly fall attractions in and around Ridgefield. Before you go, be sure to call ahead or check the orchard’s website to clarify hours of operation or to check for the availability of apples.

"Pick Your Own" at Blue Jay Orchards, 125 Plumtrees Road in Bethel, will be open Saturday and Sunday of each weekend beginning Sept. 6, and also on the Columbus Day holiday.

Silverman's Farm at 451 Sport Hill Road in Easton is open 7 days a week.

Beardsley's Cider Mill and Orchard at 278 Leavenworth Road in Shelton is open daily 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

Harvest Moon Farm & Orchard is just over the state line in North Salem, NY, at 130 Hardscrabble Road.

Also in North Salem is Outhouse Orchards, just up the block from Harvest Moon at 139 Hardscrabble Road.

Although not a "pick your own" orchard, Halas Farm Market is huge, and nearby at 28 Pembroke Road in Danbury.

While you are out scouting orchards, be sure to check out that extraordinary corn maze in Brookfield, at Twins BBQ at 401 Federal Road.

This should be a good year for apple picking, according to the 2025 forecast from the U.S. Apple Association, which estimates the harvest will be 6 percent higher than in 2024, for a total of 273 million bushels.

That estimate is based on USDA data from the top seven apple-producing states — respectively, Washington, New York, Michigan, Pennsylvania, California, Oregon and Virginia. When other states are considered, total production could be as much as 290 million bushels, the industry trade group said.
