Rocky Hill Man Charged with Lumber Theft

Police say they caught the suspects as they tried to pick up the lumber that had fallen out of their truck.

A trio of men — including one from Rocky Hill — are facing larceny and criminal trespass charges after they were caught trying to abscond with lumber from a Southington home.

According to Southington Police, a witness reported seeing “a group of males loading lumber into trucks” and the trucks leaving 1196 Meriden Ave. about 11:11 p.m. Nov. 15. The witness chased after one suspect into the woods behind the property, police said.

As officers responded to the scene, they found a truck that matched the description given by the witness.
