The Edelson for Connecticut campaign is excited to announce its "Walk Across the District" scheduled for the weekend of June 7, 8, and 9. This community-focused event will cover parts of all four towns in the 69th district, with stops in Southbury, Roxbury, Bridgewater, and New Milford. Each day, Ed Edelson and his supporters will traverse different routes starting on Friday at Southford Falls, just south of the Southbury/Oxford border, and concluding Sunday afternoon at Hurlburt Park in Roxbury. Everyone is invited to join Edelson for the walk or simply to participate in the various activities planned along the way.

“Meeting directly with voters is the most important part of a campaign. I encourage citizens to come out and talk to me as we move through our beautiful towns,” said candidate Ed Edelson. "My campaign kicked off in January with a listening tour, and the campaign’s ‘Walk Across the District’ is a great opportunity to keep those important conversations going while enjoying some fresh air."

Various activities are scheduled around each leg of each walk. Friday's journey from Southford Falls concludes with a gathering at the Southbury Town Hall green followed by a reception at Señor Pancho’s hosted by the Southbury Democratic Town Committee. On Saturday, the route takes participants from Hudson’s Bistro in Heritage Village to the Hidden Gem Orchard farm stand in Southbury Farms and includes a talk by Jim Wargo, owner of the orchard, about the espalier method he employs. Sunday begins at Clatter Valley Park in New Milford, with a stop for coffee at Bridgewater Village Market and Bistro, and ends at Hurlburt Park for an ice cream social hosted by the Roxbury Democratic Town Committee featuring Rich Farm’s Ice Cream.

Edelson has already walked these routes several times to ensure pedestrian safety, and notes that the distance for each walking segment ranges from about 2.0 – 6.5 miles in length. For those planning to join Edelson on the road, campaign volunteers will be available to drive participants back to the starting locations after each portion of the walk is over, if needed. Even if guests cannot join in any of the walks, they are most welcome to attend the events at Señor Pancho’s, Hidden Gem Orchard, and Hurlbut Park.
