
Mark your calendars! Here are a few events scheduled for the week ahead in Southbury.
Thursday, November 28
The Southbury Parks & Recreation Department will sponsor a bus trip to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. The bus will depart at 6:30 a.m. and the cost is $30 per person.
Friday, November 29
From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., police officers will collect new, unwrapped toys in front of the KMart store in the Southbury Plaza to benefit Southbury Needy Fund's 2013 Holiday Gift Program for Children. Click here for a wish list of desired donation items.
Please note- The Southbury First Selectman's Office announced the following closures for the upcoming holiday:
-Town Offices and Connecticut Probate District 22 will be closed Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29.
-The Department of Elderly Services and the Senior Center will be closed Thursday, November 28 through Sunday, December 1. Transportation services are also canceled during those days, according to the announcement.
-The Southbury Public Library will be closed on Monday, November 25 through Wednesday, November 27 for electrical updates, as well as Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29 for the holiday. The library will re-open with regular hours on Saturday, November 30 and Sunday, December 1.
