Southbury Attorney Accused of Stealing $3 Million From Client's Estate: Report
Southbury's top elected official said he is concerned because the attorney has an office in Heritage Village.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel in Connecticut has filed an application seeking the suspension of Southbury attorney Robert Barry for allegations of stealing from the estate of a client, according to a report from the News Times.
Barry represented Catherine W. Wilens while preparing her will in 1998 and she has since passed away, reports the Republican-American.
Sturges and Mathes is the Southbury-based law firm in which Barry works and from 2010 to 2014 checks were allegedly cut to them in the value of $3 million, according to a report by the Republican-American.

Wilens estate was valued at about $9 million and a bulk of the estate was earmarked for colleges including Cornell University, the News Times reports.
The Republican-American reports there are 70 cases currently pending in probate in which Barry has authority over.
