2 Businesses Robbed Early Sunday Tied To String Of Area Thefts: Police
A Shell station and a 7-Eleven were both robbed Sunday morning in Southington, police said.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Two businesses were robbed early Sunday morning in Southington, according to police, who said the thefts are believed to be connected to a larger string of robberies in the area.
Officers were called shortly before 5 a.m. to the Shell gas station in the 600 block of Queen Street, where employees reported three males entered the store and demanded a worker open the register then left with money and cigarettes, police said.
While officers were responding to Shell, they received another 911 call, this time about the 7-Eleven in the 500 block of Queen Street, according to police, who said two males came into the business, ordered the clerk to open the registers and left with cash.

The suspect vehicle is a stolen Hyundai Tucson with the Connecticut registration BJ35331, police said. The vehicle is reported to have been involved in numerous thefts in the region, including in Newington and Cromwell, according to police.
