255 New Apartments, Retail Coming To Southington: Report

A portion of the apartment units will be designated as affordable.

SOUTHINGTON, CT – Anthony Properties is building 255 apartments along Route 229 near Curtis Street in Southington, according to a news report from the Hartford Currant.

Of the 255 apartments, 26 will be set aside as affordable, with rents for families capped at 80 percent of the monthly area median income, the April 12 report stated.

Company Vice President Resa Gilmore said construction in Southington this year would be too optimistic, according to the report.

The $55 million apartment project will feature a clubhouse, pool and about 18,000 square feet of retail space, the Hartford Current reports.

Anthony Properties, headquartered in Dallas, Texas, is a privately held real estate development and investment firm with a portfolio including residential communities, mixed-use developments, retail centers, multiplex cinemas and acreage held of investment, according to the company website.
