Board Postpones Re-Zoning Vote For Route 229 Apartments: Report
Southington is delaying a decision on whether to move forward with a controversial apartment complex, the Hartford Courant reported.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — To allow more time to review details, Southington's planning and zoning commission has delayed a vote on whether to move forward with a proposed 264-unit apartment complex, the Hartford Courant reported.
The project would bring apartment buildings to Route 229 (West Street) in Southington, and according to the Courant town residents are split on whether the project's benefits of tax revenue outweigh its costs of increased traffic congestion.
To move forward with the project, Dallas-based developer Anthony Properties would need the planning and zoning commission to amend its mixed-used transition zone — and zoning commissioners decided at a hearing last month that they'll vote on whether to do so either in late February or March, the newspaper reported.
