SOUTHINGTON, CT — A Bristol-based community foundation that serves Southington is looking for local nonprofits to benefit from its grant dollars.

The Main Street Community Foundation is currently accepting applications from nonprofit organizations seeking grants.

Funding for the programs will benefit the communities of Bristol, Burlington, Plainville, Plymouth, Southington, and Wolcott.

The funds currently accepting applications are:

• Bradley Henry Barnes and Leila Upson Barnes Memorial Trust - Nonprofit organizations may submit letters of inquiry for new capital projects, programs, or initiatives that improve the health outcomes of Southington residents.

The deadline to submit the letters is Sept. 19.

• Men & Boys Fund – Grant applications must demonstrate the need for a program or initiative that assists local men and boys to improve the quality of their lives, increase self-sufficiency, and/or make a positive difference in their community.

The deadline to apply is Sept. 19.

• Women & Girls Fund - Successful grant applications will address one of three identified priority areas for local women and girls: Services for senior women, confidence building and leadership, and mental health and well-being.

In addition, two other grant cycles will be opening on Oct. 1: the Louise Lauretano DeMars Love of Art Fund and the Burlington Community Fund.
