Free/Reduced Admission To CT Museums Available At Southington Library

As part of Library Card Sign-Up Month, the Southington Public Library is reminding folks about the myriad museum passes available.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — In addition to having a bright, new state-of-the-art building, the Southington Public Library also has 18 different museum passes for library card holders.

And with September being Library Card Sign-Up Month, the library wanted to remind folks that having a library card does more than just allow you to borrow books.

Specifically, library card members allow users to get free and/or reduced admission to myriad museums in the state.

"Our museum passes were used 188 times during summer reading, with passes for Mystic Seaport Museum in Mystic (Groton/Stonington), PEZ Visitor Center in Orange, and Connecticut Science Center in Hartford being the most popular," wrote the library.

As a result, the library is also looking for input as to what folks' favorite museums are and whether the Simsbury Library can offer passes for those museums as well.
