Chicken Chain To Open In Southington This Week, Find Out When
The hot chicken eatery will occupy the vacant space created when a popular local restaurant closed in 2022.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — The clock is ticking (or clucking) on the latest culinary establishment to open in Southington, with staff being sought and the fryers heating up.
Fast-growing hot chicken chain "Dave's Hot Chicken" is expected to officially open a new restaurant on Friday, Aug. 15, in Southington at 99 Executive Blvd. South, Southington.
But, according to an announcement from the company on Wednesday, there is a "secret soft opening" planned for Thursday, Aug. 14.

The chicken restaurant will open at the site of the former "Chip's Family Restaurant," which closed back in June 2022.
Since it became known that Dave's was coming to Southington last year, the chicken chain has received a Southington Zoning Board of Appeals variance for the eatery's signage.

That was approved in November 2024.
Because the restaurant is going into a former restaurant's location, that is the only required municipal action.
Meanwhile, Dave's is looking for workers to staff the growing eatery chain, with pay hovering between $17.35 and $20 per hour, according to an online help wanted advertisement.
The chain started in East Hollywood, Calif., in 2017 and, since then, has evolved into a national chain featuring three childhood pals at the helm.
Currently, Dave's has 300 locations worldwide, with most in the U.S., Canada, the United Kingdom, and even the Middle East.
In Connecticut, there are Dave's locations in Newington, Milford, and Stamford.
Its menu features such chicken stalwarts as tenders, nuggets, sliders, and sandwiches, all to varying degrees of Nashville-style heat or sans heat.
In addition, Dave's offers sides such as fries, cole slaw, and macaroni and cheese, among others.
It also has a wide variety of frozen beverages, including milkshakes and "slushers," in addition to traditional soft drinks.
