Gunman Robs Southington Liquor Shop

The suspect fled with an unknown amount of cash Monday night, according to Southington Police.

Southington Police are searching for the masked gunman who robbed the Colonial Wine and Spirits shop Monday night.

It was about 7:39 p.m. when the Southington Police Department received a panic alarm from the Colonial Wine and Spirits shop at 255 Berlin Ave.

Police say that a lone male suspect wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a black mask entered the store, displayed a black handgun and demanded the store clerk give him all of the money from the cash register.

According to police, the clerk gave an unknown amount of money to the suspect who then told the clerk to sit on the floor. The suspect fled the scene in a southerly direction. Police canine units attempted to track the suspect, however the track ended just south of the store.

The suspect is described as a black male about 20 to 25 years old, with a slender build of approximately 150 pounds, approximately 5-foot-7 to 6 feet tall. He was wearing blue jeans, a black sweatshirt, a Carolina Panthers baseball hat, a black face mask, and gloves.
