Jersey Mike's To Open Southington Sub Shop

SOUTHINGTON — The town is about to have a new eatery for hungry folks to chow down, with a grand opening event planned to also help out a very special cause.

Jersey Mike’s Subs, which is known for its fresh-sliced/fresh-grilled subs, will open at 812 Queen St. in Southington on Wednesday, Sept. 7.

Operating Partner and Area Director Chad Faulkner will host a grand opening and fundraiser from Wednesday, Sept. 7, to Sunday, Sept. 11, to support "Where Angels Play."

The "Where Angels Play Foundation" supports efforts to build playgrounds at schools to honor the victims of the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre in Newtown, Conn.

Customers who receive a special fundraising coupon distributed through a grassroots effort prior to the opening can make a minimum $3 contribution to "Where Angels Play" in exchange for a regular sub.

Customers must have a coupon to be eligible.

Faulkner said customers can stop in at the store on Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to pick up a fundraising coupon good for use from Wednesday, Sept. 7, to Sunday, Sept. 11, to support "Where Angels Play."

“We are very excited to open our doors to the Southington community and show them what Jersey Mike’s is all about,” said Faulkner.

“We also have the pleasure of partnering with an incredible foundation called Where Angels Play for our grand opening. We look forward to being a part of this community for many years to come.”

Jersey Mike’s Subs, with more than 2,200 locations nationwide, serves fresh sliced/fresh grilled subs on in-store, freshly baked bread — the same recipe it started with in 1956.

Guests can place orders in-store or for pickup through the website or through the Jersey Mike’s app.

Additionally, delivery is available in most areas through the Jersey Mike’s app or through third-party delivery partners.

Curbside pickup is available for orders placed in Jersey Mike’s app.
