Jo-Ann Fabrics Plans To Close Southington Store, Hundreds Of Others

The national retailer has said it will close more than half its locations nationwide and may close all its Connecticut stores.

SOUTHINGTON, CT —Fabrics and crafts retailer Jo-Ann Fabrics will close 500 of its 800 stores, according to reports, one of them being in Southington, 774 Queen St.

This comes after the company filed for bankruptcy for a second time last month.

Court filings show Jo-Ann will close stores in all 50 states, with California, Florida, Indiana, Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania, and Washington among those affected most, according to CNN.

The 81-year-old Ohio-based retailer identified all 10 Connecticut stores for potential immediate closure in court documents, according to NEXSTAR, with those being in Brookfield; Clinton; Manchester; Newington; Enfield; Southington; Hamden; Milford; Torrington; and Norwich.
