The Knights of Columbus Palos Council #35 hosted the fundraiser, cooking scrambled eggs, sausages, home fries and other morning delights for hungry attendees.

By the end of the morning, a total of 101 people came to the breakfast.

“We did it as a fundraiser to help the schools, to give them some money for whatever they might need,” Grand Knight Ken Archambault said.

The Council typically holds a breakfast to benefit a different community cause once monthly.

Next month’s breakfast is set to take place March 27 and will benefit St. Paul’s Catholic High School and the St. Vincent DePaul Mission Shelter, both in Bristol.

Leftovers from Sunday’s breakfast were delivered to St. Vincent DePaul, for the homeless men, women and children who are served there.

Coming up March 12 is the Knights’ Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner, happening at the CCD Center from 5 to 8 p.m.

Admission is a $20 donation for adults and $10 for kids under 10.

The menu will include corned beef, cabbage, carrots, potatoes, onions, bread, dessert, soda and coffee. Tickets are available at the door but can also be reserved ahead of time by calling Ken at 860-690-1516.

Proceeds will go to benefit St. Gregory’s Church.

“The last time we did our Irish Night was in 2018,” said Bob DeLuzio, one of the Knights and a member of St. Gregory’s Church.

He is usually the one who plans the menus and can be found cooking in the kitchen during these benefit events.

“South Side Market is our benefactor for the dinner,” DeLuzio pointed out. “They’re supplying the corned beef.”

The dinner will be served inside the CCD Center at 1043 Stafford Ave., but people can also take orders to go.
