In Memoriam: Rita 'Diane' DuPont

Rita ‘Diane’ (Parlee) DuPont, 70, of Southington, died on Sunday, January 24, 2016 surrounded by family.

She was born in Hartford and was a long-time Southington resident. She was the daughter of the late Harold and Rita Parlee.

Diane was an owner of Connecticut Appliance and Fireplace Distributors together with her husband, Doug. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 24, 2015.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Andrea Salzillo and her husband, Sisto of Southington, her son Doug M. DuPont and his wife Amy of St. Petersburg, FL, and one grandson, Joseph Salzillo. She is also survived by her brother, James Parlee, her sister, Gail Simms, and she was predeceased by her brother Warren Parlee.

Diane was a loving mother and wife who was a selfless and devoted caregiver all her life.

There will be no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the PKD Foundation of CT.
