Morning Car Fire Closes Spring Street, Leaves Car Totaled

A car fire along Spring Street around 1 a.m. Monday morning led police and fire officials to close the street and one care in ruins, but there were no injuries reported.

Southington firefighters were forced to close Spring Street for a short time early Monday morning after a car traveling along the road caught fire and became fully engulfed in flames, officials said.

Fireifghters responded to Spring Street around 1 a.m. with reports of a car on fire and responded to find the vehicle full in flames, according to fire officials.

No one injured the response and occupants of the vehicle were able to escape without injuries as well. The car, however, suffered considerable damage and was considered to be "totaled" before officials even left the scene.

The car had been traveling on Spring Street when the incident occurred. Further details of the incident were not immediately available.
