With 11 years of experience overseeing both high school and middle school athletic programs, McKee most recently was the district athletic director for Meriden Public Schools.
"McKee is uniquely qualified to lead Southington High School's expansive athletic department into its next chapter," wrote school officials.
In his previous role, he directed athletic operations across two high schools and three middle schools, impacting nearly 4,600 students.
"Bringing Bob back to Southington is more than just a hire, it’s a homecoming,” said Southington Superintendent of Schools Steven Madancy. “He is a proud SHS graduate, a former student-athlete, and someone who understands first-hand the values, traditions, and community pride that define Southington athletics. His passion, leadership, and unwavering commitment to student success make him the perfect fit to guide our programs forward.”
