“This is another example of the City of Bristol’s commitment to companies, to help them grow and sustain their businesses, to keep people employed, and to preserve and attract more businesses to our city,” said Bristol Mayor Jeff Caggiano.
The grant was created in order to assist companies in getting further consultative services to improve operation as well as marketplace competitiveness for area businesses. Grant funding will cover up to half of consulting services to a max of $10,000.

In order to certify the business for the quality management standard ISO 9001:2015, PEM contracted with CONNSTEP for consulting services. Becoming an industry standard, ISO 9001:2015 as a certification sets a bar for quality measures in products.
“Thanks to the City of Bristol and their grant program for local manufacturers, we were able to achieve ISO certification for our company,” said PEM’s Bena Agastra. “And we couldn’t have done it without the guidance and assistance from CONNSTEP. The certification to the standard supports our goal of business growth, and gives our customers a reason to believe in us.”
Those manufacturers with NAIC/SIC eligible codes can apply for the grant and there is no maximum or minimum of size. Firms interested in the grant can call 860-584-6185.
CONNSTEP is a manufacturing consultancy firm and a member of the MEP National Network.
