Prominent Southington Businesses Host Noted Media Personality

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The local chamber has teamed up with a major player in the local foodie scene in its latest project to boost the visibility of Southington's dining community.

The Southington Chamber of Commerce recently teamed with state television personality and food trend expert Alex P. Taylor to visit two prominent Plantsville businesses.

Recently, Taylor released an Instagram video, which the chamber highlighted on its Facebook page Wednesday.

Specifically, Taylor visited Dean's Stove and Spa and the Craft Kitchen both on West Main Street in Plantsville for a day of food and fun.

Both were featured on Taylor's Instagram account.

According to Taylor's website, he's been unofficially dubbed the "Nacho King of Connecticut" and he's been featured on the Bravo television program "Below Deck."

In addition, Taylor has appeared on NBC, Fox, Connecticut's Morning Buzz, Great Day Connecticut, and the Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, among other programs.

Much of his work traversing Connecticut's eateries and businesses can be seen via his wide array of social media accounts.

Chamber officials said visits like Taylor's to Plantsville/Southington are important, especially given the major road reconstruction going on in the town's business centers.

While representing a long-term improvement, construction projects like what's going on in Southington can hurt businesses in the short term due to travel difficulties.

"Don’t miss Alex P. Taylor’s amazing reel from his recent trip to Downtown Plantsville," wrote the Southington Chamber Wednesday.

"He’s highlighting some of the incredible businesses that are thriving despite the construction. This project was made possible by The Southington Chamber of Commerce and The Town of Southington."
