Prominent Southington Playground Temporarily Shuttered
The closure of a Southington playscape area is to allow for the construction of a new, 'kiddie' playscape.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — The whole playground area at a local park has been shuttered temporarily so a new one can be built.
Town officials Wednesday announced the closure of the Recreation Parkplayscape area, which is located on Maxwell Noble Drive in the Plantsville section of town.
Recreation Park has several amenities, including various sports fields, pickleball/tennis courts, a swimming pool and a children's playground.

The playscape's closure is to allow a new "kiddie playscape" to be constructed.
The entire play area will be closed until that project is complete.
