Southington CVS Pharmacy Is Robbed

Police say the suspect also may have robbed a CVS in Waterbury on Friday morning; Police seek public's help in identifying the suspect.

SOUTHINGTON, CT - The Main Street CVS pharmacy was robbed early Friday morning and Southington detectives are seeking help in identifying the robber.

Police said it was about 5:41 a.m. when a black male suspect walked in the front entrance to CVS store at 310 Main St. and approached the check-out counter. The suspect told the clerk to open the cash drawer and to give him all the money.

The suspect had one hand inside his sweatshirt pocket implying he had a weapon, police said.

The clerk handed the suspect the money from the cash drawer and the suspect fled the scene in what is believed to be an older model silver Jeep Cherokee with heavy passenger side damage.

The suspect is described as a black male in his mid-30s, about five feet, five inches tall and weighing 160 pounds with short hair and an unshaven face. He was wearing a grey zip-up hooded sweatshirt, a white T-shirt, blue jeans and gray shoes.

Police also said it is believed this same suspect committed a robbery at a Waterbury CVS store Friday morning as well.

Anyone that can identify the suspect is urged to call the Southington Police Department at 860-621-0101.
