Southington Election 2015 Results -- Who Will Run the Town?
Voters voice opinions on 2 referendums to build new senior center and to preserve open space.

Southington Republicans retained control of the town council Tuesday as unofficial results show voters chose six Republicans and three Democrats.
Cheryl Lounsbury, vice chairwoman of the council, told The Courant that the election marked the first time Republicans have retained a supermajority on the council for three terms.
Three Democratic incumbents — Christopher J. Palmieri, Dawn A. Miceli and John N. Barry — were re-elected. Republican Paul Champagne edged out Democrat Anthony E. D’Angelo by 53 votes, according to the report.

Republican incumbents Champagne, Riccio and Lounsbury, and Victoria Triano and Tom Lombardi, won reelection. Also elected was Republican Edward S. Pocock III.
Both referendums were adopted — the building a $9.4 million, 22,000-square-foot senior center on Pleasant Street, and establishing a $2 million fund to buy undeveloped land for open space.
