Southington FD Issues Fire Danger Warning

The Southington Fire Department says no outdoor burning is allowed in town until rainy weather arrives.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Dry weather expected this week has the Southington Fire Department urging folks to refrain from burning outside.

Monday, the SFD said the fire danger locally was considered "high" and it will remain so until Southington receives some rain.

Rain in recent days has been spotty in Connecticut, and no prolonged rain is in the forecast.

"No outdoor burning is permitted when the fire danger is high," wrote the SFD in a social media post Monday, Aug. 18.
