Southington Gentleman's Club Fined For Dancer Behavior: State
The state Department of Consumer Protection has fined a local strip club and suspended its liquor license for inappropriate dancer behavior.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — A state investigation of an upscale gentleman's club in Southington has resulted in the temporary suspension of its liquor license and a $3,000 fine.
According to the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection's Liquor Control Commission, "Hollywood," located at 1104 Queen St., Southington, will have its liquor permit suspended for the day on June 2 for multiple violations regarding dancer behavior.
In addition, state officials said, Hollywood's owners/management already paid a $3,000 fine in connection with a negotiated settlement between the cabaret club and the state.

Those violations were, according to the agreement:
• Unlawful conduct of the permit premises — exposure/display of breasts.
• Unlawful conduct of the permit premises — touching, caressing, fondling.
• Unlawful conduct of permit premises — dancers mingling with guests.
According to state documents, the original probe originated with a complaint in June 2024 filed anonymously regarding several other allegations of misconduct within the club.
A subsequent investigation was conducted by agents with both the DCP's liquor control division and the state Department of Labor.
While the anonymous complaint filed last June alleged several other allegations, state officials only enforced what they observed during their undercover operation.
When agents visited "Hollywood" in September 2024, they observed dancers with exposed breasts and dancers sitting on the laps of patrons, which is illegal in Connecticut, according to the report, which also included images of the violations.

According to "Hollywood's" website, the gentleman's club bills itself as an upscale cabaret.
"With over one hundred of Connecticut's sexiest entertainers, you will not be lacking for natural beauty to look at," reads Hollywood's website.
"Our stunning staff is made up of talented bartenders, shot girls, and cocktail waitresses. You will find plenty of comfortable couch seating in our stage-side cabana rooms equipped with a private stage for your enjoyment."
The establishment markets itself as a destination for private parties or just a place for guests to watch sports and/or the dancers.
When reached by Patch, Hollywood owner Andy Wielblad said the original complaint came from a disgruntled former customer, and his establishment worked with state officials during the probe.
"It came from a customer we had banned from the premises. It’s clear the complaint was retaliatory and fabricated," he said. "We fully cooperated with the investigation and settled for a fine and single-day closure."
