Southington-Grown Produce Available At Nonprofit Farm
The Southington-based Lewis Educational Agriculture Farm (LEAF) operates a farmers' market that is open through October.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — A locally based agriculture education nonprofit is reminding the community that fresh produce grown in Southington is available for purchase.
The Lewis Educational Agricultural Farm, located at 65 Blueberry Lane, Southington, last month opened its "On the Farm Farmers Market" and it will continue to offer locally-grown food at markets through October.
The farm stand operates every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. in the site's brick cold storage building.

There, folks will be able to purchase a wide variety of fruits and vegetables grown on site.
The Lewis Educational Agricultural Farm, or "LEAF" as it's known, is a 230-year-old farm site that was once owned and operated by the Lewis Family.

In the 2000s, the family evolved the family farm into the non-profit LEAF, where education is as important as the agriculture on site.
