Southington PD, FD To Battle At Blood Drive

The next installment of Southington's 'Battle of the Badges' takes place Aug. 23 in the form of a blood drive at a local middle school.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Southington's finest and its bravest are, once again, at each other's throats amid the glory of competition.

Months after the Southington Police Department defeated the Southington Fire Department in a "Battle of the Badges" pizza-eating contest, the two agencies are at it again.

This time, though, they're asking for the public to join in and help them save lives by donating blood at the "Battle of the Badges" blood drive on Saturday, Aug. 23.

The drive will take place that day from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at John F. Kennedy Middle School, 1071 S. Main St., in the school's gymnasium.
