Southington PD's 'No Shave' Campaign a Success

More than $5,200 was raised for cancer research.

Members of the Southington Police Department are clean-shaven once again.

Department personnel who donated $100 to the Saint Francis Foundation in care of the Curtis D. Robinson Center for Health Equity, were allowed to forgo the department’s no beard grooming policy for the month of November.

“We had a total of 46 officers participate in the No Shave November. We also received donations from the public. We raised a total of $5,270 for the foundation,” according to Lt. Michael Baribault.

On Nov. 30, police presented a check to Curtis Robinson from the Curtis Robinson Foundation For Equity and The St. Francis Foundation to support cancer research.

“The officers, administration, and staff of The Southington Police Department would like to thank everyone that helped raise this money for cancer research,” police said.
