Southington Police Announce Road Closures Ahead Of Memorial Day Parade
Roadblocks to be in place prior to and during the parade.

Police have announced a number of road closures ahead of the Memorial Day Parade scheduled for Monday.

The roadblocks will be in place prior to and during the parade, which is scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m.
Police said the following intersections will be affected by closures.

– West Center Street, at Liberty Street
– Main Street, at Center Street
– Main Street, at Columbus Avenue
– West Center Street, at Bristol Street
– High Street, at North Liberty Street
Those participating in the parade are expected to gather in the lower parking lot of Derynoski Elementary School, off of Eden Avenue, around 9:45 a.m.
The parade will begin on Eden Avenue, then head right on to Liberty Street, right on to Center Street, right onto Apple Alley, west of the Town Green, before continuing onto Columbus Avenue, where it will disband in the parking lot behind 98 Main St. A memorial service will then be held on the Town Green immediately following the parade.
A violation of the parking restrictions on the day of the parade will include a $35 fine.
Any vehicle parked in the parade route after 10 a.m. will be towed, police said.
No parking will be allowed on Eden Avenue, Liberty Street, Center Street, Columbus Avenue, Apple Alley and Main Street, west of the green.
