Southington Police Investigate 'Untimely Death'

Police said the victim was found at the base of a mountainous ridge on Saturday morning.

Southington Police are investigating what was described Monday morning as “an untimely death.”

Police said that at about 9:07 a.m. on Nov. 28, both the police and the Southington Fire Department responded to the area of 305 Copper Ridge on a report of an untimely death.

Police said that at some point on Nov. 27, the victim, Eric Alberti, 50, of Southington, “left his parent’s home and walked up into the mountainous terrain on the east side of Copper Ridge. When Eric did not return home, the family became concerned and went looking for Eric. Family members located Eric at the base of a ridge in the area of 305 Copper Ridge.”

Medical personnel pronounced Alberti deceased at the scene, police said.

“There are no indications of foul play and the case is currently under investigation by the Southington Police Department Detective Division,” police said.
