Southington To Remember Events Of Sept. 11, 2001
The Town of Southington is hosting a memorial service on the 24th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks on the U.S.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The local community will gather on Thursday, Sept. 11, to mark one of the country's most tragic days in its history.
The town will host a patriotic memorial service at 8:46 a.m. at the 9/11 Memorial in Plantsville, which is located at the corner of Summer and Main streets.
There, members of the Southington police and fire departments, along with local officials, civic groups, and residents, will "remember an honor" those who died on that fateful Tuesday on Sept. 11, 2001.

That's when, simultaneously, terror attacks featuring hijacked jets claimed nearly 3,000 lives.
This happened when planes were crashed into the Twin Towers in New York City, the Pentagon in Washington D.C., and into a field in Pennsylvania, a doomed flight destined for the nation's capital, but commandeered by brave passengers.
