Southington Teen Makes Good With Massive Food Donation
The Southington High School student collected bottles/cans to finance a personal food drive for those in need locally.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Through good times and bad, Southington Community Services is always hard at work helping those who need a helping hand.
And helping out Southington Community Services this summer was one teenager who did more than just play on her phone.
Southington High School student Madalyne Landry was recently feted by Southington Community Services for her work helping out the department.

The SHS student recently collected and donated 200 food items that weighed 158 pounds total to the food pantry.
She did so, according to SCS, by collecting bottles and cans for six years to purchase necessary food for the food pantry.

She wasn't alone in helping out, and the department regularly pays tribute to its long list of community benefactors who help the SCS help those who need it.
