Southington Woman Accused of Assaulting 64-Year-Old
The arrest followed an argument between the suspect and the victim, according to Southington Police.

A Southington woman is facing assault and criminal mischief charges following an argument with a 64-year-old woman.
According to Southington Police, it was shortly before 3:30 p.m. Jan. 23 when the suspect was arrested following the dispute.
The suspect is accused of arguing with the victim who was on the telephone and then trying to take the phone away from the victim. During the dispute, the suspect allegedly grabbed the victim’s arm, shook it and caused a bruise, according to a police report.
The victim then ran from the suspect and tried to call 911 but the suspect attempted to take away the phone again, according to the report.
Cheryl Ann St. Amant, 36, was charged with third-degree assault of an elderly person, disorderly conduct, interfering with an emergency call and third-degree criminal mischief.
St. Amant was released after posting a $5,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 25.
The victim did not require medical attention, police said.
