Southington's 'Touch-A-Truck' Event Moved To Sunday

The annual Southington tradition was slated to take place Saturday, but weather worries forced the event's rescheduling to Sunday, May 18.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The local recreation department's "Touch-a-Truck" event slated for Saturday, May 17, has been moved to Sunday, May 18.

The Southington Parks and Recreation Department announced the change Friday, citing the expected rain and thunderstorms on Saturday.

This will be the 21st annual "Touch-a-Truck," and it is co-sponsored with the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 72.

The program will take place Sunday, May 18, at the Southington Drive-In, 995 Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike, Southington.

Admission for children is $4, and adults are free.

Guests will be able to enjoy food, face painting, glitter tattoos, and other refreshments.

But the stars of the day will be a massive lineup of construction, military, emergency, and police vehicles that children will be able to explore during the event.
