Still Time To Enjoy A Swim At One Southington Public Swimming Pool

The town has released an end-of-season schedule for one of its outdoor public pools, which will remain open through Sept. 7.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The kids are back in school, and Labor Day weekend is upon us in a day or two.

Yes, summer is coming to an end faster than a coffee shop rolling out its pumpkin spice menu for autumn.

But there's still time to go swimming at one of Southington's public swimming pools, should the mercury skyrocket as summer enjoys one last blast.

That's because the pool at Recreation Park on Maxwell Noble Drive in Plantsville will be open to swimmers through the first week of September.

Recently, the town unveiled the end-of-season schedule for the pool:

• On Thursday and Friday, Aug. 28-29, it is open from 3:30 to 7 p.m.

• On Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 30-31, it will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

• On Monday, Sept. 1, it will be open on Labor Day from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

• From Tuesday, Sept. 2, to Friday, Sept. 5, the pool is open from 3:30 to 7 p.m.

• Then, the swimming season ends Saturday, Sept. 6, and Sunday, Sept. 7, with the pool being open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

After that, folks will have to wait until next year and the return of warm weather.

It should be noted that the pool and splash pad at Memorial Park on Woodruff Street closed for the season last Sunday, Aug. 24.
