Stolen Vehicle Found At Target, Man Charged: Southington PD
The 36-year-old Bristol man was found fleeing the store with another adult and two juveniles once police were notified.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Local police have accused a Bristol man of stealing an SUV that was eventually found at the Southington Target store.
According to the Southington Police Department, Jose Torres, 36, of Bristol, was charged with theft of a motor vehicle, second-degree larceny, second-degree reckless endangerment (two counts), risk of injury to a minor (two counts), and interfering with a police officer.
He was taken into custody on $25,000 bond, police said, later adding he had seven other active arrest warrants, prompting him to be held on an additional $215,000 bond.

According to police, at about 5:50 p.m. on Monday, officers were alerted to information that a stolen Ford Expedition was in the area of West Street.
Officers responded to the area and located the vehicle in question, parked unoccupied at the south side of the Target parking lot nearby, according to police.

Police said Torres, along with another adult and two juveniles, had arrived at the store in the stolen vehicle.
It had been later determined that the group left the store upon the officers' arrival and walked north towards the exit of the parking lot, according to the SPD.
Police said Torres was eventually located walking behind a nearby Home Goods store located at 99 Executive Boulevard South.
He was taken into custody without incident, according to the SPD
