Unique Clothing Chain Opens New Southington Store
The store specializes in selling and buying gently used clothing for teens and young people.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — A new clothing store in Southington is more than just a place to shop, its a place for teens to practice sustainability and still be dressed well at the same time.
Plato's Closet, which is located at 750 Queen St., hosted a grand opening last week with several community and town officials present.
A member of the Southington Chamber of Commerce, Plato's Closet helps "sustainability-focused teens and young adults" buy and sell gently used clothes, shoes, and other items.

The store is part of a nationwide chain of Plato's Closets, specializing in cash for clothes and clothes for cash.
According to the chamber, Plato's Closet will pay "cash on the spot" for items brought in for resale.

"Each Plato’s Closet location is individually owned and operated by local business owners, so you can feel good about shopping small," wrote the chamber.
