State police on Wednesday released details of their lengthy investigation, which was done in conjunction with Torrington police, saying Catherine Brennan, 31, was charged after police discovered she had a warrant out for her arrest.

Brennan, state police said, was charged by Bristol officers with interfering with an officer in connection with an incident in Bristol that was unrelated to the narcotics investigation. Authorities did not indicate Brennan faces any charges in connection with the drug bust, which included the search of 103 Holley Place, where the 31-year-old was found and taken into custody.

The target of the drug investigation has been identified as Bryan Gladding, 34, who state police say was observed carrying out a hand-to-hand drug deal before investigators searched the Holley Place residence.

A search of Gladding, state police said, turned up 32 grams of crack cocaine, 12 wax folds of fentanyl, a digital scale and a loaded .45 caliber pistol. State police said he does not have a valid pistol permit and, because of pending narcotics charges, is barred from having guns.

The search of the Holley Place residence turned up $1,000 in suspected drug proceeds, cutting agents and materials commonly used to package narcotics. Brennan, state police said, was among multiple individuals in the home at the time of the search Tuesday.

Gladding faces narcotics and firearm charges.

Brennan was freed from custody following her arrest and is expected to be arraigned in New Britain Superior Court on Aug. 16.
