A Challenge to the Beastie Boys' Constitutional Interpretation, South Windsor BOE Budget Workshop
Here are five things going on in the area today.

Good morning, South Windsor! Today is Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013; there are 329 days left in the year.
I’ve done extensive research on the issue, reviewing both the federal and state constitutions and I have come to the following conclusion:
Contrary to popular belief, there is, in fact, no Right to Party, as asserted by the Beastie Boys in their seminal hit, “Fight for Your Right (to Party).”
There is a freedom to assemble in the Bill of Rights of the United States Constitution, which provides that there is a right for people to come together and collectively express, promote, pursue and defend common interests.
That, I would argue, is entirely different than what Mike D., Ad Rock and MCA were espousing when they stated, “Your pop caught you smokin’ and he said, ‘No way,’; That hypocrite smokes two packs a day.”
That does not mean, however, that the freedom to assemble doesn’t encompass a general right to party. I leave that argument for another day.
In an unrelated note, I need to get out more.
