[Photos] 42nd Annual Imperial Oil Egg Hunt at South Windsor High School

Several thousand people showed up at the popular free event.

Several thousand people descended at the stadium at South Windsor High School on Good Friday for the 42nd annual Imperial Oil Egg Hunt, presented by the Parks and Recreation Department.

Ray Favreau, director of the parks and recreation department, said that 25,000 plastic eggs containing $1 bills, trinkets or candy were doled out in the six waves of children, all separated by age.

It’s the 20th year that Imperial Oil has covered the cost of the event, which drew between 3,000 and 5,000 people, Favreau said. There was no charge to participate, though canned food donations were being accepted on behalf of the South Windsor Food & Fuel Bank.
