Puppy Bowl is Amazing, South Windsor Town Council, Bulky Waste Collection
Here are five things going on in the area today.

Good morning, South Windsor! Today is Monday, Feb. 4, 2013; there are 330 days left in the year.
Hey friends, here’s a piece of advice from your favorite (and only) local editor: never, ever, under any circumstances, watch The Puppy Bowl with two children, particularly after you’ve said that the family will get a dog soon.
You see, we already have a full house, what with the two kids, two cats, a wife/mom and an incredibly good looking, smart, funny husband/dad.
The kids (and the local editor) want every breed of puppy. It’s up to my wife to be the bad guy here. I just go nuts when I see one of the pups get flagged for excessive cuteness.
So my poor wife has to be the one to say no. Poor thing.
Here’s your Daily 5:
1. The South Windsor Town Council meets tonight at 7 p.m.
2. “A Lincoln Portrait -The Man who Painted Lincoln" (George Henry Story) will be on exhibit at Wood Memorial Library and Museum in South Windsor through Feb. 28.
3. Yoga 4 Aches and Pains at Yoga Born at 4:30 p.m.
4. From the town: The next bulky waste collection will be during the week of Monday, Feb. 4 on trash collection day. Pickup for Condominiums will be on Friday, Feb. 8 (including Plum Ridge Condominiums) It is not necessary to schedule a bulky waste collection. Please place the item(s) curbside or by the dumpster by 7 a.m. for collection.
Questions may be directed to the Public Works Department, 860-644-2511, ext. 343 Monday through Friday 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
5. The South Windsor High boys and girls basketball teams play Wethersfield at 7 p.m. The boys are home, while the girls are away.
