South Windsor Athletes on Campus: Fournier Off to Sterling Start

The high school sports season is just around the corner. But we don’t have to wait to get our South Windsor sports fix. Check out how South Windsor natives are doing competing in their respective sports at the collegiate level. Here's how things are going so far:
South Windsor native Allyson Fournier (East Catholic High ‘11), a sophomore pitcher on the Tufts University softball team, has gotten off to a terrific start to the year, going 5-0 with a sparkling 0.50 ERA for the 13-1 Jumbos. She has 65 strikeouts in just 35.2 innings pitched, while opponents have batted just .092 against her. … Brogan Canty (South Windsor High ‘12), a freshman attack at Plymouth State University women’s lacrosse team, scored her first collegiate goal on March 23 in a 16-5 victory over Pacific (Ore.). … Jenna Harner (South Windsor High ‘12), a freshman defender on the Ithaca College women’s lacrosse team, has played in two games thus far for the 3-3 Bombers. … Greg Pendergast (South Windsor High ‘11), a sophomore defenseman on the Quinnipiac University men’s lacrosse team, has started all seven games for the 3-4 Bobcats, picking up 12 ground balls along the way. … Aaron Sladyk (South Windsor '12), a freshman on the Mitchell College men's lacrosse team, is second on the team in scoring with 17 points (11 goals and 6 assists. In a 14-6 victory over Regis (Mass.) on March 23, Sladyk had a goal and two assists. ... Amber Casiano (South Windsor High ‘09), a senior midfielder on the University of New Hampshire women’s lacrosse team, is third on the team in goals scored with 9 (11 points overall). She scored 3 goals in a tough 11-10 loss to Navy on March 13. … Ashley Casiano (South Windsor High '09), the starting goalie for the Marist College women's lacrosse team, had 8 saves in a 9-5 victory over Oregon on March 24. Casiano has started all 10 games for the 3-7 Red Foxes. She has made 77 saves on the year and has a .425 save percentage. ... Kelsey Daniels (South Windsor High ‘10), a junior attack on the UConn women’s lacrosse team, had an assist in a 19-8 victory over Binghamton on March 16. The Huskies are 6-1 on the year. … Michael Donahue (South Windsor High ‘09), a junior attack on the Western New England University men’s lacrosse team, is tied for second on the team in scoring with 13 points (10 goals and 3 assists). Donahue had two goals and an assist in a 20-14 loss to Tufts on March 24. … David Wolf (South Windsor High ‘11), a sophomore attack on the Central Connecticut State University men’s lacrosse team, has two goals and an assist on the year. … Tori Thompson (South Windsor High ‘11), a sophomore catcher/outfielder on the University of Connecticut softball team, has appeared in six games for the 11-10 Huskies, including three starts. She is batting .273 with 3 hits in 11 at-bats. … Todd Doran (South Windsor High ‘09), a senior on the Marywood University men’s tennis team, has won his last two matches playing No. 1 singles, defeating Alexander Channick of Gwynnedd Mercy 6-0, 6-2 on March 23 and Ethan Grodzinski of Lebanon Valley 1-6, 6-1, 7-6 on March 24.
