South Windsor Irish Committee to Host Pub Night
Fundraiser for St. Patrick's Day Parade will take place on Feb. 28.
The South Windsor Irish Committee will host its annual Pub Night on Thursday, Feb. 28 at Pub II at 59 John Fitch Blvd. from 5 to 7 p.m.
The event will celebrate this year’s Town Honoree Kevin Foley and Town Marshall Mary Etter for the Greater Hartford St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which will be held on March 9 in Hartford.
The celebration also serves as a fundraiser for the Committee for the parade. Each ticket costs $5 and may be redeemed for one draft beer.
The Greater Hartford St. Patrick’s Day Parade, according to a press release, is organized by the Central Connecticut Celtic Cultural Committee – the 5-Cs.
Each town that participates is required to form a committee to help promote the parade and raise funds for the increasing expenses of the parade.
The South Windsor Irish Committee raises funds through two events: the Irish Oktoberfest held each year in mid-October, and the upcoming Pub Night.
“It’s a time to celebrate with our Town Honorees and share in a few laughs and drinks,” the press release states.
