South Windsor Weighing One-Year Ban On New Warehouses: Report
A moratorium on distribution centers would give the town time to research their benefits and costs, the Hartford Courant reported.
SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A South Windsor resident has proposed a one-year ban on new distribution centers — and town officials will discuss it in a hearing on April 5, the Hartford Courant reported.
Kathy Kerrigan, who proposed the ban, said warehouses have caused South Windsor to become noisier and have increased its traffic congestion, the Courant reported. So, she's suggesting the town consider whether industrial centers are the best use of its land, the newspaper said.
The town's planning and zoning commission began a hearing on the proposal last week, which it plans to resume on April 5, according to the Courant.
