WILLINGTON, CT — A flying mattress caused some havoc on a stretch of Interstate 84 in Willington over the weekend, state police said.

According to a crash report, at 2:06 p.m. Saturday, a 2012 Mazda 3 and a 2021 Isuzu box truck were heading west on I-84 near Exit 71.

What state police described as an "unsecured" mattress then flew out of the truck and landed in the center lane. The Mazda could not avoid the mattress and crashed after hitting it, state police said.
