Fireworks 2023 In Stafford: Rain Date In Effect

STAFFORD, CT — Here's an update from officials in Stafford, who postponed Wednesday's fireworks show and enacted the rain date.

The following message was sent out Wednesday with the threat of evening Thunderstorms looming:

Stafford SummerFest and Fireworks will utilize the planned rain date and is postponed to Thursday, June 29, 2023, from 5 to 10 p.m. at Stafford High School (145 Orcuttville Road). Visit the SummerFest & Fireworks page for complete event information and schedule.

The event is will also feature with live music from Loveland Hill Band, "sought-after" food trucks, lawn games, fun activities and a "dazzling pyrotechnics display."

All activities will take place at the campus at Stafford High School.

Food truck menus feature an array of options including international street fare, farm-to-table selections, desserts and sweets and classic fair favorites.

Local community groups will also join the lineup, showcasing their local work and services, while sharing opportunities for involvement.

Additionally, the Stafford Lion’s Club will be hosting a Cornhole Tournament from 6 to 8 p.m.
Lawn games and art activities will offer fun for kids and families.

The Loveland Hill Band plays a diverse repertoire of rock, pop and dance tributes until the fireworks take flight at 9:30 p.m. It also has a special connection to Stafford. The group's guitarist, Earl Middleton serves as the town's School Resource Officer. Officer Middleton, a sworn officer of the Stafford Police Department, plays an important role in maintaining a safe school environment while fostering positive relationships between students and officers.
