Plea Issued To Help Dog Rescued In Willington During Thunderstorm
A friendly dog found roaming in Willington during a thunderstorm now needs some urgent care, officials said.

WILLINGTON, CT — Animal Control officials in Willington have issued a plea to help a dog in need.
His name is Max.
"This incredibly sweet and gentle young boy was found roaming the streets of Willington late one night during a thunderstorm," Animal Control officials said. "Given his friendly nature, we were sure someone would come forward looking for him.

"But, unfortunately, no one has."
Max has now been in the care of area animal control officials the for a few weeks now.

"During that time, we've learned more about his condition. After noticing what appeared to be an old, healed wound and evidence of a recent grooming, we had Max evaluated by a veterinarian," officials said. "Sadly, it was discovered that his hips are in poor condition and may require x-rays and potentially costly surgery."
Max has been upbeat through it all.
"Despite his challenges, Max remains loving and resilient," officials said. "We are looking for a compassionate person or family who is willing and able to provide the care he needs and give him the second chance he truly deserves.
