
STAFFORD, CT — Stafford fire officials recently took a look back at life as first responders in the 1940s.
The fire station pictured was on Colburn Road it is depicted just after it was completed in 1949. The land was donated by the former button factory.
Notice the fleet of vintage trucks and the rooftop siren that alerted the community to fires and emergencies. There were no cell phone and email alerts .
