Tornado Confirmed To Have Touched Down In Thompson: Report
The small tornado formed following Thursday morning's heavy rains.

THOMPSON, CT — A small tornado touched down in Thompson Thursday morning, leaving a path of downed trees and wires, and debris strewn through several yards, reported WINY Radio (see the Facebook post below).
Representatives from the National Weather Service reportedly visited Thompson and confirmed the existence of the tornado to local officials, according to WINY.
NBC Connecticut reported that the tornado tore through the area at about 10:15 a.m. along Route 12 near the Massachusetts border, knocking out power to more than 500 Eversource customers at one point.

No injuries were reported, but a portion of Route 12 reportedly was closed well into the afternoon due to storm damage.
