Utility Pole Severed After Deer Causes Crash In Stafford: State Cops

A deer, a vehicle, and a pole had close encounters over the weekend in Stafford, state police said.

STAFFORD, CT — A darting deer was to blame for a vehicle slamming into a utility pole over the weekend in Stafford, according to state police.

The accident took place Saturday at 12:40 a.m. on Stafford Street, state police said.

According to a crash report, A 20-year-old Stafford resident behind the wheel of a 2013 Subaru Forester was heading north on Stafford Street when a deer caused her to swerve.

The vehicle then veered off the road and hit an Eversource pole, according to a crash report.

The pole was severed and the Subaru was rendered inoperable, but the driver showed no signs of being hurt, state police said.
